Dear Krystyna, I’ve read your book several times. My heart aches for the little girl in the green sweater. I was so happy to know you so generously donated it to the museum! My husband and I are traveling to D.C. next week and the first thing I want to see is YOUR precious green sweater!!!! To prepare for our trip, I have been reading your story to my husband!! We read a few pages whenever we have time. I want him to “get to know the little girl” who had to hide in the sewer during the war. It just seems unfathenable that during our lifetimes there was so much evil and hatred.
How could one evil man have such power over so many, many innocent people’s lives? I can’t begin to tell you how brave I think you were and how much I respect you.
